Delta Tails Pack
Service Dog Training
A monthly membership for service dog handlers to train their own service dog to stay calm and behaved in all environments and task reliably, no matter the distractions.
Get Started

The Pack is perfect for you if...
- You dream of having your service dog walking in a loose heel whether you're in a loud city or a busy cafe and tasking reliably for your disabilities so that you can feel comfortable anywhere.
- You know the help that a service dog can give would change your life, but it just feels like an extra to do right now.
- You've been DIYing your training with YouTube, but your dog's progress feels... kinda stuck.
- You want your service dog to listen to your cues out of joy, not because you use pain, force, or intimidation to get there (ew, gross).
- You don't have a ton of extra energy to train your dog, so you want every single minute to actually count towards progress and maximize the time you do have.
You should feel calm and confident going anywhere with your service dog.
Inside the Pack, you'll see shifts like:
- Your service dog will walk next to you in any environment, even when distractions are everywhere.
- Your service dog will not yank your arm on walks or towards people or other dogs (bye bye leash burn).
- Trusting your dog to complete the tasks that you have trained to help you when you need them most - not just in your living room.
- Your service dog will be easy and simple to care for and a true partner in life.
- Knowing you can comfortable hand your service dog to sitters, groomers, trainers, and vets, and trust that they will do the best for your dog.
- Feeling totally ready to go anywhere together without spiraling into "what if" mode.
- You'll free up mental space and stop worrying about whether your service dog will "make it."
And no, you don't have to have unlimited energy or a "normal" body to do this.
Our methods are designed for real disabled handlers in mind and adaptable to any accommodation you might need. You'll have the individualized attention to create an actually doable plan for you and your body.
These members had wins within their first month in the program:

“She's finally ignoring the pillow!”
My puppy's first instinct is to play with everything in her mouth. For example, I have a little firm pillow I want to teach her a chin rest onto but she always tries to go after it to bite at it and play. Update: I've been following your advice and she's successfully transferred the behavior! Thank you so much!
~ Flor & Thistle (Poodle)

“Charley waited for the other dog to move away without barking.”
Last night in our lobby we were waiting for the elevator and got rushed by this very reactive smaller dog that frequently causes near dog fights to break out. Charley calmly stayed next to me as we waited for the dog to move away from the elevator so we could enter, didn’t do anything more than glance at the dog once. Huge win!
~ Haley & Charley (Husky)

“Didn't need to worry because he was settling so well.”
We have practiced the settle protocol that is in the courses a couple of times to try and get a natural settle. We've made it up to about 5 minutes in training sessions, honestly he might have even settled for longer this time while I was talking and got engrossed in conversation!

Your Journey Inside the Pack
#1
Exercise and Enrich Your Dog Easily
First things first: happy, fulfilled dogs = WAY easier to train.
No lasting behavior change can happen without making sure our service dogs' needs are met first.
You'll create your ideal schedule to meet all your service dog's needs without adding too much to your plate.
You'll feel finish this phase feeling calm, on top of things, and already noticing your dog checking in with you more to play the service dog training game.
#2
Teach Essential Manners in the Home
No more counter surfing adventures. No more battles over dropped food. No more grooming fear or anxiety.
In this phase, you'll teach your dog real-life manners so you can actually enjoy having them around the house again (and maybe even eat dinner without having to move across the room mid-bite). You'll enjoy hanging out with your service dog at home again without frustration or overwhelm.
#3
Teach Calm Behavior Outside of the Home
This is where you and your service dog learn to be unbothered in the real world.
Pulling on leash, chasing squirrels, barking at random strangers? Not here.
We'll practice together until walks in pet-friendly stores, parks, and sidewalks feel simple and easy.
#4
Public Access and Tasking
This is where everything you and your service dog have been working on comes together. You'll learn more advanced skills that make life easier like:
- Navigating stairs, elevators, and public transportation with calm confidence
- Tucking out of the way in tight spaces
- Building solid tasks that support your individual needs like retrievals, behavior interruptions, laundry assistance, and more, and more.
By the end of this phase, your dog will be ready to step into their full role as your working service dog with you leading the way in a way that feels good for you both.
Examination and Testing Process:
Our exams are an optional perk of being a member. Use them to track your training, and get motivation, inspiration, and clear final steps to progress in training. Each exam earns a ribbon mailed to your address, and a certificate for you to print.

Home Manners Exam
This exam covers tasks like having visitors over, waiting for food and leaving food alone, heeling through the neighborhood, and other behaviors that should be solid before working in public pet friendly areas.

Public Manners Exam
This exam includes behaviors in pet friendly stores and patios. You will purchase something and checkout with your dog, stay while shopping, and settle while you eat your food.

Public Access Exam
This is the final examination to make sure your service dog is behaving appropriately in non pet friendly locations like a grocery store and restaurant. You will also demonstrate tasks in each location.

Recall Win: “She recalled on the first attempt from deer outside.”
Recall prey drive win: My dad opened the RV door without telling Aurora to wait when there was a deer maybe 20-30 feet away. She ran out with him, but she recalled on first attempt!! It was right there!
~ Natalie & Aurora (Doodle)

Public Manners Win: “Clue heeled past another dog today!”
Today Clue and I went on a walk (without treats) and he was able to keep his head with several dog. We also needed to pass a little Shih Tzu and Clue heeled past, only breaking once and easily enough being directed back into position.
No treats, just me encouraging him. He's definitely given me hope that he can learn to leave dogs alone!
~ Lise & Clue (Poodle)

In Home Win: “Settling on his mat while we eat dinner instead of begging.”
Small but big wins from the last month: Milo will settle on his mat for the duration of two humans eating! He also settled at church without a chew for nearly 45mins & was able to be handler focused during greeting times!
~ Jaz & Milo (Labrador Retriever)

Let's Get Started

Hi, I'm Blythe.
I have trained over 200 dog and handler teams with goals from basic manners at home to public access and task training for service dogs. I've completed certifications from the leading trainers and organizations in the industry.
And yet, I still felt overwhelmed trying to manage my own service dog's needs while dealing with limited time and energy due to chronic illness.
I expected to learn these things from my classes, but they were all catered towards able bodied folks.
Through the years, I've developed systems that work to train service dogs in a way that works for actually disabled handlers, not just able-bodied, neurotypical people with tons of energy.
Now I use what I’ve learned to help people just like you train their own service dogs at home that actually help them thrive.

Public Access Win: “Heeled right beside me!”
We used a buggy at the store, which she doesn't love, and she heeled right by me, sat every time I stopped to look at something and would just flop into her down. All without being told! threw in a couple of the sit and down cues we have been working on too.
~ Elyssa & Lucy (Mini Schnauzer)
Backyard Manners Win:
“Listened without treats in my hand.”
Super proud moment for Panda this afternoon. Our neighbors sit on our wall and tease my dogs. Panda ignored them calling her name the first 10 times then she got up and gave them a warning as they leaned into our background. I was actually able to call Panda to me without anything in my hand. Which is a big win since our backyard really is her rule free zone.
~Arianna & Panda (Pyrenees)
Public Access Win: “Chilled at the library and let me read!”
We headed into the library, and after his chew(s), he actually just chilled for a good few minutes! (Go magic mat 😂). And even after he unsettled himself, he was quiet and let me read!
~ Lise & Clue (Mini Poodle)
